Sergio Perez extends Red Bull contract to 2026, dashing Daniel Ricciardo’s promotion hopes

Sergio Perez has extended his contract with Red Bull, dashing Daniel Ricciardo’s hopes of a dream return alongside Max Verstappen.
The Mexican’s future is sealed with a new deal keeping him at the Milton Keynes outfit until 2026.
Evidently, it would appear neither Ricciardo nor his RB teammate Yuki Tsunoda did enough to warrant a promotion to the top team.
It means Ricciardo’s future with the Red Bull family will be at RB for the foreseeable future. The Aussie was a chance of being promoted to Red Bull, and all signs pointed towards that being the intention when he rejoined the fold after his axing from McLaren.
Now, Ricciardo may have to go looking elsewhere if he wants to move up the ladder.”I am really happy to commit my future to this great team, it is a challenge like no other racing for Red Bull Racing, both on track and off track,” said Perez.
