Novak Djokovic ‘can’t explain’ why he’s defying his wife at Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic has pushed hard for a return to playing at Wimbledon following a torn meniscus that forced him to forfeit a game at the French Open.

Novak Djokovic is ‘defying’ his wife to compete at Wimbledon. He had admitted that he can’t explain why he is defying his wife’s feelings by competing at Wimbledon – despite his very recent return from injury. Djokovic was forced to forfeit a quarter-final at the French Open recently due to a torn meniscus in his knee that required surgery.
Djokovic’s wife, Jelena, questioned why her husband would risk further injury at Wimbledon when he has won the tournament on seven occasions.
Fans may also be questioning why he is not focusing on his preparation for the Olympics, as this is the one honour that has eluded the elite tennis player his entire career. Djokovic has explained before how motivated he is for the Games.
