Nelly Korda Emotional Over Chevron Championship’s Game-Changing Perks for Junior Golfers
Nelly Korda, the world’s top-ranked golfer, has expressed her excitement over new opportunities for junior golfers at The Nelly Invitational, an event she hosts in partnership with TaylorMade. Thanks to a recent collaboration with Chevron as the presenting sponsor, the tournament now offers unprecedented benefits to its participants. Each player will receive a $2,000 travel stipend—the largest in American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) history—to cover expenses such as entry fees, flights, accommodations, and rental cars. International players are eligible for an additional $500 stipend.
In a groundbreaking move, the champion of The Nelly Invitational will earn an exemption into the following year’s Chevron Championship, an LPGA major tournament. This marks the first time an AJGA event has granted direct entry into a major championship, providing young golfers with an extraordinary opportunity to compete at the highest level.
Korda, who inaugurated The Nelly Invitational in 2024, shared her enthusiasm on social media, stating, “Travel stipends & AN EXEMPTION INTO 2026 Chevron Championship!!!!! Wow, I can’t thank the people that brought our vision to life enough!!!”
The 2025 Nelly Invitational presented by Chevron is scheduled for May 1-4 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. With Chevron’s support, the tournament aims to inspire and empower the next generation of female golfers by reducing financial barriers and offering unparalleled competitive opportunities.
