French Open: Carlos Alcaraz admits ‘nerves’ before facing World No.1 Jannik Sinner

French Open 2024: Carlos Alcaraz said that he has nerves before facing World No.1 Jannik Sinner in the semi-final at Roland Garros. Sinner became the top-ranked player after Novak Djokovic pulled out of the clay-court major.

Carlos Alcaraz admitted that he has butterflies in his stomach before facing World No.1 Jannik Sinner in the semi-final of the French Open 2024 men’s singles. On Tuesday, June 4, Sinner clinched the top-spot after Novak Djokovic pulled out prior to his semi-final clash against Casper Ruud due to an injury on his right knee.

Sinner also became the first Italian to become the top-ranked player. The 22-year-old went through to the semis after beating Bulgaria’s Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. Last year, Alcaraz crashed out in the semi-final after losing to Djokovic and has a chance to make amends, but he is aware of the challenge that awaits him in the form of Sinner.
