Nelly Korda is the dominant force in women’s golf right now….. see detail

Nelly Korda is the dominant force in women’s golf right now, but is a run of six LPGA Tour wins in seven starts just the start of her ascent to sporting superstardom?

The 25-year-old tied Nancy Lopez (1978) and Annika Sorenstam (2004-05) for the most consecutive LPGA Tour wins with victory at The Chevron Championship last month, having already won the LPGA Drive On Championship, Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, Ford Championship and T-Mobile Match Play this season.

Korda’s winning streak was briefly halted with a tied-seventh finish at the Cognizant Founders Cup, although she bounced back to claim a one-shot victory at the Mizuho Americas Open and register a 14th LPGA Tour title.

The world No 1 will be the pre-tournament favourite once again when she headlines the US Women’s Open, live from Thursday on Sky Sports Golf, where Korda is chasing back-to-back major victories and the opportunity to continue a winning run almost unheard of in professional sport.
