Giorgi won four WTA titles and achieved a career-high ranking of 26. Her decision comes after she was listed as retired on the International Tennis Integrity Agency website.
The news of her retirement comes amid reports that Giorgi and her family are being investigated for tax evasion and allegations that she forged her COVID-19 vaccination documentation.
