Jannik Sinner showed his support for Alexander Zverev after the German’s emotional reaction to losing the 2025 Australian Open final. The Italian defeated the German 3-0 (6-3, 7-6, 6-3) and comforted him after the match when Zverev broke down in tears.

Sinner demonstrated his sportsmanship by consoling Zverev following his emotional response to losing his third Grand Slam final. The German tennis player couldn’t hold back his tears after a third failed attempt at winning a Grand Slam title.

Sinner secured his second consecutive Australian Open title, beating Zverev 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3 in a match that lasted 2 hours and 42 minutes. The world number one never faced a single break point, helping him claim his third Grand Slam title.

Zverev was visibly devastated after losing his third Grand Slam final, leading him to tears before the trophy ceremony. Zverev had hoped to break his bad luck after previous heartbreaking losses in five-set finals to Dominic Thiem at the 2020 US Open and Carlos Alcaraz at the 2024 French Open. Ahead of the match with Sinner, Zverev admitted that he was hoping for “a bit of luck” after the tough defeats in previous finals.

Before the final in Melbourne, Zverev led their head-to-head 4-2, but the world number one reduced the gap with an impressive victory.
